KB Cross Section
"KB" type cross sections may be used as stiff longitudinal elements, as well as primary bearing structure elements of a metallic construction buildings, i.e. as main frame pillars and beams.
For the latter use (pillars - beams), a back - to - back combination of twin KB cross sections is recommended. For bearer formation, hitch sheets and patches will be used.
All structural element connections utilized are bolted, providing for easy on - site building assembly.
"KB" type cross sections consist of, regarding their production method, thin gauge cold - formed cross sections.
Their design and engineering is carried out according to Eurocode 3 provisions, Appendix 1.3 (General Rules - Supplementary Rules for cold formed thin gauge members and sheeting).
The quality of steel used is Fe E 320 G with a 320 N/mm2 rupture limit (fyb) and a 390 N/mm2 breakage limit (fu)(EN 10417 Continuous hot - dip zinc coated carbon steel sheet of structural quality).
Regarding the materials' corrosion resistant properties, Z 275 EN 10147 and A1/95 galvanized steel is used. Cross sections are produced in 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm thickness, tolerances as per EN 10143.
